Invitation to all players from Westmount, Lachine, LaSalle, Verdun, to register for the WLLV AA/B selection camp. A minimum of 3 sessions total of ice time is guaranteed for each participant. You must be present from the beginning of the tryouts in order to be guaranteed the 3 sessions.

The tryout camp begins on August 29, 2026, at Jacques-Lemaire Arena. The detailed schedule by division and group will be posted on the website as soon as it is confirmed, a few days before the start of the activities.
Team distribution for the 2026-2027 season:
U11: 2 AA teams and 3 BB teams
U13: 2 AA teams
U15: 1 AA team
U17: 1 AA team
U19: 1 AA team
U21: 1 B team (AA equivalent)
Please note an important change this season: the U18 division has been replaced by the U17 and U19 divisions, and a new U21 division has been added to the program.
The tryouts will include a minimum of 3 sessions for all divisions. For U11, which offers both AA and BB levels, the initial tryouts will be used to select the AA teams. A player may be released from the AA group after only one session, but will continue in the BB group for up to a total of 3 tryout sessions. If the player demonstrates the required level of play, they may continue in the tryout process. However, if the evaluators release the player after 2 sessions in the BB group (3 sessions total), the player will return to their local association.
For the U13, U15, U17, U19, and U21 divisions, there will be only one level. Players trying out for these divisions will receive a minimum of 3 tryout sessions. If they are released, they will return to their respective local associations.
WE WOULD LIKE TO EMPHASIZE THAT A PLAYER'S HOME ASSOCIATION IS NOT A SELECTION CRITERION. WE DO NOT HAVE QUOTAS FOR ANY ASSOCIATION. THE BEST PLAYERS IN EACH DIVISION WILL BE SELECTED. THEREFORE, IT IS POSSIBLE THAT A PARTICULAR DIVISION MAY NOT INCLUDE ANY PLAYERS FROM ONE OF THE ASSOCIATIONS WITHIN THE WLLV PROGRAM (WESTMOUNT, LACHINE, LASALLE, VERDUN).
A few words about the player selection process during tryouts: Under the supervision of our Technical Director, a team of at least 3 evaluators will be in the stands assessing players on the ice. After each session, their comments and observations are reviewed with the Technical Director.
Player selection is based on hockey skills, game sense, and skating ability.
Points are awarded for each aspect of the player's performance and then compiled. The evaluators discuss the results with the Technical Director and the coach appointed to the team. It is also important to understand that the final roster decisions are often based on additional criteria beyond hockey skills, such as commitment, attitude, and overall behaviour.

Registration for the tryout camp opens on July 1, 2026, and closes on August 16, 2026.
Fee: $110 — one reversible practice jersey is included.
To participate in the WLLV tryout camp, a player must be registered with their local Minor Hockey Association (MHA), and the tryout fee must be paid in full.
